Mubiru David

PhD Scholar

David is a young carrier researcher in the field of plant pathology and a PhD student attached to MUST and KU Leuven. He has a master degree in Biology, MUST and a Honours degree in Bachelor of Science with Education- Biological, MUST.

David Mubiru is a part time Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He has various peer reviewed academic publications , has supervised students for research at bachelors level and he has presented in both local and international conferences within the East African region.

David has worked on various research projects, partnering with both local and international researchers. He has 6 years of research experience since 2019, working with farmers in the field of climate change in South Western Uganda focusing mainly on crop pests and diseases.

David is aspiring to build his carrier in plant pathology using a range of molecular biological techniques, and focuses on solving community problems in agriculture through research. He is passionate about mentoring other students and having multidisciplinary collaborative researches in the field of plant pathology.

He is currently undertaking research on the Banana Bunchy Top Virus disease in South Western Uganda.
