Holds a PhD in Geography, a Master’s of Science in Botany and Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Has been involved in training and mentoring teachers and researchers for the last 24 years. Dr. Lejju has held leadership roles for 20 years. He is the former dean of the Faculty of Science, and chairperson of the Deans’ Committee. He has served on different committees at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) as Board Member of Centre for Innovations, and Technology Transfer (CITT), Member of Senate, Staff Development Committee, and Top Management of the University among others. He has also served in various international Committees such as Secretary General for International Union of Quaternary Research Association (INQUA est. 1828), Board of International Science Foundation (IFS), Future Earth-Africa Chapter and Board Member for East African Journal for Science, Technology and Innovation among others. Dr. Lejju was the Principle Investigator of Millennium Science Initiative (MSI) Project at MUST, and has collaborative research projects with regional and international universities. His areas of research interest are; Climate and Environmental Change, ecology, palaeo-botany, archaeo-botany, palynology, Forest Resources Management, Island Biogeography.
