The MUST IUC UCoBS sub-project 3 and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development jointly organized a two-day training at the UCoBS boardroom on May 9th and 10th, 2024. The facilitators were Eng. David Birimumaso, the Assistant Commissioner for Energy Efficiency and Conservation, and Eng. Godfrey Ssaja Ssali, a PhD scholar studying solar. The participants were students doing Bachelors of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Energy Management and Energy Auditing. The trainees, 4 ladies and 3 gentlemen, were taken through a series of steps on how to minimize energy waste in a building, calculate energy use, carry out an energy audit, and use tools to collect and analyze data. The trainees shall carry out an energy audit of the FAST building and recommend energy management techniques to minimize energy waste.
