Health Facility Readiness Surveys, Geospatial Mapping, and Patient Chart Review

Activity period: 27th December 2024 – 11th January 2025

Location: Kasese and Bundibugyo Districts

 Objective

The activity aimed to assess the readiness of health facilities, conduct geospatial mapping, and carry out key informant interviews to support research assistants. Additionally, patient chart reviews and data extraction focused on maternal records.

 Health Facilities Covered

Kasese District

Bukonzo County: Ihandiro HC III, Karambi HC III, Katwe HC III, Nyabirongo HC III, Kitholhu HC III, Kyarumba HC III, Kyondo HC III, Bwera Hospital

Busongora County: Bugoye HC III, Hiima HC III, Kyarusandara HC III, Kalibu HC III, Kavera HC III, Kinyabwamba HC III, Kitswamba HC III, Kabatunda HC III, Mahango HC III, Isule HC III, Maliba HC III, Mukathi HC III, Muhokya HC III, Nyamirami HC IV

Kasese Municipality: Kasese Municipal Council HC III, Rukoki HC IV

 Bundibugyo District

  • Bughendera County: Bukangama HC III, Ntandi HC III, Butamba HC III, Kakuka HC III, Kyikyo HC IV
  • Bwamba County: Babukwanga HC III, Kanyamwiriima Army HC III, Kisuba HC III, Busaru HC IV, Nyahuka HC IV, Bundibugyo Hospital

 Activities Conducted

  • Health Facility Readiness Surveys: Assessed infrastructure, staffing, medical supplies, and service delivery capacity.
  • Geospatial Mapping: Mapped health facility locations to support spatial analysis of healthcare service distribution.
  • Key Informant Interviews: Gathered insights from health facility staff regarding service delivery and challenges.
  • Patient Chart Review and Data Extraction: Focused on maternal health records to evaluate service utilization and outcomes.

 Conclusion

The activity was successfully completed within the planned timeframe. Data collected will support further analysis and inform healthcare interventions in the districts.
