Dates: June 10th to June 21st, 2024
Three (3) weather stations will be installed in each of the districts of Rubanda, Rubirizi, and Isingiro. Additionally, nine (9) rain gauges will be installed across three sub-counties in each of these districts i.e Kyabakara, Kicwamba and Kirugu in Rubirizi district, Bubaare, Hamurwa and Muko in Rubanda district and Isingiro TC, Ruhiira and Mbare in Isingiro district. This initiative aims to enhance weather data collection in these areas.
The collected data will serve multiple purposes:
- It will be used by students for academic and research purposes.
- It will assist district authorities in making informed decisions.
- It will contribute to the national meteorological database, thereby benefiting broader weather monitoring and forecasting efforts.
The installation team will comprise members of the P2 team, a technician from the Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA), and officials from the respective districts and sub-counties.
