Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) marked a significant milestone with the site handover of the construction of an Entrepreneurship Center under MUST IUC-UCOBS sub-project 5 on June 11, 2024.
Assoc. Prof. Charles Tushabomwe Kazooba, the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration and the Local Coordinator for the MUST IUC-UCoBS, was represented at the ceremony by Dr. Tumuhimbise Manasseh, Team Leader of Sub-Project 5. The location was formally turned over to Mr. Mandeep Singh, Managing Director of Khalsa Development (U) Limited, by Dr. Manasseh.
Dr. Tumuhimbise conveyed gratitude to the Khalsa Development (U) Ltd team for their prior commendable efforts and emphasized that MUST anticipates the highest quality of work from them under this project, which is expected to end in 9 months.
The event was attended by Eng. Barisiima Sarah from the MUST- Estates Department, Mr. Kitagenda Joseph from the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI), Dr. Kijjambo Fredrick, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, Dr. Kule John Baguma, team member project 5, Assoc Dean (FBMS), Dr. Nabachwa Sarah, team member project 5, and Ms. Keitesi Aisha, project 5 assistant.
Purpose of the Entrepreneurship Center
The Entrepreneurship Center is set to create a hub for entrepreneurs at MUST as well as those from the surrounding community. It will provide a collaborative space for innovation, networking and the exchange of ideas to foster entrepreneurial growth and development. This is aimed at strengthening the focus of MUST IUC-UCoBS project 5 to advance youth employability through skilling, experiential learning and technology transfer.
MUST IUC-UCoBS appreciates Howest University of Applied Sciences for the fruitful partnership and recognizes the Local Government of West Flanders in Belgium that has funded the Entrepreneurship Centre.
